There’s so much to give thanks for what Monsanto has done over the years, and the huge amount of offerings they’ve created for the world. That is to say, unless you feel that Agent Orange, PCB’s and GMOs are something to praise. But contrary to popular opinion, Monsanto has brought us all much closer than we could have ever imagine, considering what they’ve dipped their hands into recently. Yes, thank you Monsanto.
Thank you for going far beyond what any psychopathic company whose “fiduciary responsibility” is greatly more important to their shareholders, despite the repercussions and harm that come from generating those profits. For millions of people already disgusted by Monsanto’s tactics and fraudulent crimes over the course of many decades, none more with a step that threatens the food we eat everyday, they have awakened the beast; the beast would be, every single person on the planet – yes, we are awake!
The Food Revolution has begun!
What sparked this awakening was a dastardly deed, among many, which Monsanto and co-conspirator Senator Roy Blunt, who wrote a legislative ‘rider’ into the annual appropriations bill, which Obama eagerly signed – yet another gaffe in the short-lived history of this failed Presidency. Dubbed the Monsanto Protection Act, it sets into law that any Monsanto seeds or GMO crops that are grown and found to cause harm in any way, that they’d have immunity from any punishment in a court of law. And the Supreme Court just upheld a case where those seeds can not be used for a farmers’ following growing season, and must pay yet another fee to grow the same GMO (genetically mutated organism) seed which has been patented by Monsanto. Imagine, patenting life. Yet again, thank you Monsanto. None could have done it more surreptitiously and deviously as those who call the shots at Monsanto, and with the blessing of the FDA.
The egregious disregard of ethics and law from politicians who’ve been bought and paid for, as Roy Blunt and others, it pinpoints a spotlight on just how our entire political system is rigged; the American experiment which has been systematically broken because of exactly what our forefathers warned us of — banks and corporations.
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country… corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. – Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) letter to Colonel William F. Elkins, 21 Nov 1864.
It is these trampling of the spirit of Americans and others around the world, which has given rise to our outrage. The overstepping arrogance of corporations to flash money in the face of an all too eager politician to sell their soul to the devil – and make no mistake, this is as devilish company, more than anyone could have ever imagined — one which threatens the very existence of humanity.
Yes, this is why I say, thank you Monsanto. You have stepped over that line of impropriety, pounced on the very fabric of a nation and the planet; manipulated mass media and universities to shine a favorable, yet sham of a light, upon your harmful creations, and on every single person who works at Monsanto, from maintenance person, to scientists, to CEO.
Millions of people around the globe are indeed fed up with the abuse of not only the political system, but our entire food supply which has been hijacked by this and other chemical companies. They try so hard to pass themselves off as an “Agricultural” company, but there is not doubt that they’re anything but — a chemical factory of corruption and death. Of course they don’t want any GMOs labelled. Who in their right mind would buy them, given the fact of the damaging effects they cause? Of course having a label on their GMO created products, would mean that it would make them accountable — but that’s not in their plans – and they’ll do anything, including fraud, to stop that.
More than a movement — history is taking place
Because of these horrific acts of Monsanto, a grassroots movement has swept over the world. With 6 continents, 41 countries and over 350 events about to take place on May 25th, 2013, the March Against Monsanto is the first step in doing something to fight against this company bent on overtaking the world’s food supply. This the time not just to march against this hellish company, but with every ounce of effort to impart on your family, friends and people you may know, urge them to not buy anything that this company has created — Roundup being their largest seller. Ambien prescription drug is also another big seller of theirs. It is imperative that after the March Against Monsanto is over, that you take the deliberate act of not supporting Monsanto by boycotting every single harmful product they sell.
Monsanto’s genetically modified Roundup Ready crops include soy, maize (corn), sorghum, canola, alfalfa, and cotton. Almost 90% of these GMO products are in almost all commercial grocery stores unless certified Organic.
Steps to ensure that you’re not supporting Monsanto:
- Throw away any Canola oil, Soy Oil and Soy Sauce which is not organic and vow to not support any GMOs and Monsanto’s products in the future. Instead, buy healthier alternative oils such as Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil that is certified organic.
- Check labels on food packages and steer clear of products that contain soy, soy flour and High Fructose Corn Syrup. These have a highest risk of being GMOs.
- Tell your friends and family about Monsanto and the products that they’re pushing onto people.
- If you take Ambien for insomnia, call your doctor immediately and ask that he switch you to a much safer alternative. If you are in the position that you must take a sleeping pill, I would first suggest you consider an alternative source such as Valerian. Talk to your doctor before adding any herb. This herb has been used for thousands of years for helping sleeping disorders.
- Call or write your local, state and federal legislators and ask they support the repeal of the Monsanto Protection Act.
- Write to your local Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware and other stores that carry Roundup, and let them know of the incredible harm that this toxic herbicide does to our water, animals and people. Here is a sample draft letter which you may want to send. Sample letter
- Grow your own food by purchasing seeds that are sold by companies that have taken the Safe Seed Pledge.
- Do the majority of your food shopping at your local farmers’ markets. Doing so supports your community and farmer, and puts organic, healthy and tastier food on your table.
Here is a list of hardware stores in the U.S. and Canada. If these stores get enough response from consumers, they are bound to listen and do something to curtail any legal liability from the sale and distribution of Roundup.
The best way to affect change is to vote with your wallet. Real and substantial change only occurs when you change someones bottom line. Take away or add to their profits and you will get noticed. One person at a time. Elite, pauper, puppet — no matter. The effect is equal. Vote with your wallet!
There is still much work to do, with the passage of the Monsanto Protection Act, that was the last straw for millions of Americans and citizens worldwide, outraged over the continued corruption of our democratic institutions, the contamination of our environment and Monsanto’s relentless march to take over of our food supply.
Tell Congress: “It’s time to Vote for Peoples’ Rights, not Corporations!”
