Bill Maher Brilliantly Condemn Politicians Double Standards On Pot Use

Bill Maher brilliantly condemns Jeb Bush, Obama and Senator Ted Cruz with their use of double standards to punish a specific class of people (minorities, the poor, and less affluent) for similar petty, nonviolent crimes of the affluent characters of society.

Maher said the presidential candidates now all admit to smoking pot, but ‘that was when I was young and stupid.’ And he says ‘that’s not a defense that’s available for the 700,000 Americans who get arrested every year.’ He goes on to say that Obama should admit that putting all those people in jail for nonviolent offenses was a huge mistake, and he should pardon them all.

“And there’s plenty precedent: Lincoln (a Republican) pardoned the Southern rebels after the Civil War, Ford (a Republican) pardoned the Vietnam draft dodgers, and Reagan gave amnesty to 2.7 million illegal Mexicans. If a Republican can issue pardons for insurrection, desertion, and *speaking Spanish* then a Democrat can forgive us for getting high.”
